It's Coming

The Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt will be coming to the West Chester University campus from April 1st-4, 2003!  The exhibit will benefit  Chester County AIDS Consortium.

The quilt exhibit is free and open to the public and will be displayed in Sykes Student Union Ballrooms A, B, & C.  Check out the photos page to see photos from when the quilt was here in March 2000.

  • Funds Raised for Direct Services for People with AIDS: $3,200,000 (U.S.)
  • Number of Visitors to Quilt: 14,500,000
  • Number of Panels in the Quilt: Over 44,000
  • Number of Names on Quilt: 84,000*
  • Number of football fields: 17 football fields without walkway between sections; 25 football fields with walkway
  • Miles of Fabric: 50 miles long if all 3'x6' panels were laid end to end. Greater than the distance between Providence, Rhode Island and Boston, Massachusetts
  • Total Weight: 50 tons without walkway
  • NAMES Project Chapters: 35
  • International Affiliates: 43
