Professional Bio: Hailing from nearby Swarthmore, PA, Kate has studied clarinet and saxophone privately for over 9 years. She was selected for the PMEA District 12 and Region 5 bands her senior year of high school. She also was a 2 year member of the Greater Overbrook String band and marched in the Philadelphia Mummers parade in 2004 and 2005. Since arriving at West Chester University, Kate has been a member of the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band, the Symphonic band, Wind Ensemble, Women's Choir, and the Clarinet Choir. In January of 2006, she was asked to play in a master class at WCU led by the well reknowned clarinettist, David Shiffrin. She was selected to represent WCU at the 2007 Intercollegiate Band Festival at Lock Haven University. In addition to her musical organizations, Kate teachs Sunday school to 6th graders at Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester, and is the Sigma Alpha Iota Team Captain for the 2007 Relay for Life event that will be held at WCU April 27-28.
