Professional Bio: Sara has been involved in music since she was very young. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and has continued her studies since then. She now studies with Dr. Richard Veleta. In fifth grade, Sara began playing the clarinet. She has taken part of concert mistress since then, except for one unfortunate incident in ninth grade. She was section leader for the clarinet section of the Elizabethtown Area High School Marching Band in tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades. During these years, she also was a participant in LLMEA's County Band, sitting Concert Mistriss in that as well as the County Wind Ensemble her senior year. She has also played in the high school's musicals all four years. In her junior year, Sara went on to participate in PMEA District and then Regional bands. Her senior year, she also made it to the PMEA All-State festival, sitting fifth overall. During these years, she studied clarinet with Beverly Butts, a professor at Lebanon Valley Collge. Upon entering college, she has played in the WCU Symphonic Band and Orchestra, as well as the Clarinet Choir directed by her private lessons teacher, Dr. Karen Dannessa.
