Alpha Epsilon News
Getting Ready for Fall!

Summer is in full swing, but that hasn't stopped the Alpha Epsilon chapter from getting ready for another great semester! On the website, more updates will be coming. The officers page has been updated with our new Fall 2008 officers and chairs (congrats to all!) Once all the Alpha Pi's get me their bio information (hint hint) they will be added to the Active Brothers page and their pledge class picture will also be up under the pledge classes.

Upcoming Dates:

- The National Convention is August 6-10 in Nashville, TN and we are sending 1 Brother down to represent Alpha Epsilon.

- Our 20th Anniversary is coming up on October 30, 2008 and we're going to celebrate!! Tentative date is set for October 24-25. Any alumni not on the alumni mailing list, email aephisigmapi@hotmail.com to be added so you get updates about our 20th Anniversary!!

Alpha Pi Inductions!

Congrats to the Alpha Pi pledge class! On Friday, April 18th, Alpha Epsilon inducted 15 new Brothers!! Many alumni came to be involved in inductions and meet their new family - thank you for coming!! Pictures will be uploaded soon. The semester is winding down. New officers and chairs have been elected (in a very long meeting!) and will be installed next meeting.

Past and Upcoming Events

We've had a lot going on this semester! Our most recent events were a Isaac's Fundraiser Night March 4th and a Scholarship movie night, watching "Sicko" on March 6th and also a Fellowship event involving Mentos and Diet Coke with the chinese buffet afterwards. All were very successful. Now that we're all refreshed from Spring Break we have plenty more to do this semester! This Thursday we are having a Fellowship activity, a Cultural Dinner where Brothers can bring food from their family's heritage. Afterwards we are having a Social event, a movie night! And a quick update on our initiates - they had their local test before break and did very well! Keep checking the site for more updates and remember we can now be reached at www.wcuphisigmapi.org

A Note To Alumni: If you do not think you are on the e-mail list to get newsletters and info from our alumni advisor, please e-mail Denni at AEphisigmapi@hotmail.com. Also if you know anyone else who is not on the contact list, please inform them to e-mail our Alumni Advisor!

We Love Service Projects!

This past week the Brothers were involved in a lot of service! Last Monday (2/18) several Brothers and Initiates took part in an All-Service Organization Social and Service Project. Under the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteering, we worked with the Friars and Abbes, Alpha Phi Omega, and Circle K to make dog toys for the ASPCA out of old t-shirts. Also, last Saturday (2/23) Brothers and Initiates took part in the Circle K Volleyball Tournament for MS. Unfortunately the Phi Sigma Pi team, dubbed "Purple Cobras", lost in the first round. It was still a lot of fun and for a good cause, and we're getting ready to win it all next year! The Brothers and Initiates are entering intramural sports! We are going to play volleyball! Also, the Initiates are doing a great job so far with all their requirements!

Pinning and the Philadelphia Art Museum

Hey, guess what! Our website can now be reached from www.wcuphisigmapi.org. So use that from now on to reach our site (it's a lot easier to remember)! All 17 Alpha Pi's were pinned this past Friday followed by their lock-in to get to know each other and learn about the pledge process. We now have an Initiates page up. Check it out to see the new Alpha Pi's and if you are an Alpha Pi there's some help for you for the alphabet, song, and learning all the Brothers names! We had lots of fun at the Art Museum this Sunday for a Scholarship event. This week we have a service project on Monday with other campus service organizations and an ice skating social on Friday. Check out the calendar and the rest of the site. Updates happen often!

Congratulations Alpha Pi Class!

We had an awesome turnout for our Info Nights and Rush events - over 75 people!! We had 3 rush events, each night covering a part of the tripod and Mike and Emily did an awesome job with that! Bid Night was this past Sunday and after a long meeting we picked 17 students to pledge in the Alpha Pi class, our biggest pledge class in a LONG time. Friday at 6:30pm in Philips Autograph Library will be the pinning ceremony (all alumni are invited!!).

Other news - Wednesday and Thursday we will have our carnation sale in Sykes. The Alumni News page has been updated so please check it out! Also the calendar is updated.
