ROBERTO - CHI CHAPTER
On behalf of all the Brothers at Chi Chapter I would like to extend our condolences to the Casillas family and Rho chapter for their loss. Our lives are full of losses but we must remember never to quit. Those who look down upon us will always wish us to do our best; lets make them proud.
SANTOS MATOS PSI CHAPTER
I hardly read or sign the guestbook anymore due to my recent losses this year, personal and fraternal. I sit here, late at work as usual, trying to keep my mind busy, not to think about all that has transpired over the last year or so and yet I can't. There are some who understand and respect my judgment while there are those who continue to doubt me. And in all this madness I keep losing Brothers, dead and alive. I don't understand why we have loss some much this year, and even in our loss we still don't earn the respect we deserve from our peers, brothers included. Its just ridiculous. Irv, your birthday is on June 5th and I'm going crazy as to how I'm gonna deal with you not being around. I miss you bro. My whole life has been so affected by your death that sometimes I don't know how to function as a person. You left so fast. The death of Alex from Rho, although I didn't know him, has brought up real emotional pain that I haven't been able to deal with. It has also made me realize that we have to cut out the nonsense we cling to and start doing what are supposed to be doing...helping each other and our communities. Why learn excuses? On behalf of Psi Chapter we send our condolences to the family and to Rho. I know that Rho is out there hurting. You know ya'll can call me anytime. I have been MIA because I lost a friend, more like brother, in Irv. It all isn't fair. The only thing I hope is that they are in a better place. Irv some him the ropes and teach him how to stroll from cloud to cloud, cause I know the both of you are doing your thing. Take care. Mad love and until we met again, you are still the negro!

Just be strong because they still live within you, through your memories. Even though they are not here physically, mentally they are right by you, walking at your side through the hardships and struggles that fade you. They are angels in sky who watch over their family. With Respect, Yvette ~ University of Connecticut
GISCARD BETA CHAPTER FALL 1999
Once again our great family has lost one of its own. This has been such a tragic year for Lambda Theta Phi and I from the bottom of my heart want to extend my deepest condolences to our fallen brothers' families. Let's not remember our fallen brothers for when they left us, but instead for how they touched our lives and all those they knew...I think they would like it better that way. Let's remember the memories shared, the good and the bad ones, for those were the ones that made them who they were.

MAT MONTEMAYOR RHO CHAPTER SPRING 1993
For once in my life, I'm at a loss for words. Imagine that. Alex was my brother and friend and we shared so many good times and experiences. Before there was even a Rho chapter, he was my friend...then my brother...then my roommate...and on...and on. We just assume that someone will always be there. But he is and always will be. Now, we are reminded that we are not guaranteed anything but this moment and we should let each other know that we appreciate one another while we are here. Thank you to all of you for who you are. Our 'people' (family/friends) as Alex would have said are what is really important in our lives. Alex contributed a lot to others and the world and will be deeply missed. Please, pray for Alex and his family. Brother, sisters, and friends, we all need to get together and catch up very soon. Keep on shining, Alex!
SUNDANCE MU CHAPTER SPRING 1994
First, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Casillas family and the brothers of Rho Chapter. Alex was definitely one of the good that was continually a catalyst for positive behavior, hard work, and the continuation of Lambda Theta Phi's ideals and mission in Philly. He will surely be missed.
GILLIAN LAMBDA THETA ALPHA IOTA CHAPTER
It's been a little over three months since I have signed the page and it saddens me to have to think of another loss that the brothers have had to take this year. Alex, even though I was not blessed to have known you I felt another pain to know that you had gone. Hope your taken good care of my baby up there....cause I am sure he will be showing you the ropes....you are now in my prayers as well. To the brothers and his family...I know the pain of loss and I am sorry that you have to feel it once again. May they watch over you and care for you in this time of suffering and after the time has passed. The loss may never leave us, but the loving memories of our angels will guide us through. To my angel, from my lips to your ears I hope you hear me...you are loved and missed by your #2...Gillian
ETA CHAPTER
The Brothers of Eta Chapter would like to extend their condolences to the Casillas family and to Rho Chapter. We offer our support and prayers in this time of sadness.
IRV HARTMAN RHO CHAPTER SPRING 1993
I am so far away. And now you are farther. I hope they have the "net" up there. This loss is strange to translate and the gain of your lifes teachings is more alien. It is selfish of me and I know it. When it comes to my sincerity I will always be selfish. The 'brownness' that reaches into our bloodstream, roving through our minds and into our hearts soaring out through our lives, like solar flares, it melds with itself and this BROTHERhood is its offspring. And now you and this gift move into the afterlife and you wait to hand me another dream of energizing what we did not understand, yet obligated each other to reveal greatness. Thank you. ‘Mira! ΏTe recuerdas: la pelea? Remember what I said to you afterwards? We should have been like Batman & Robin and gone back-to-back on them! We might have won that one. That was a crazy one, but simply another illustration and I have no regrets from it. Except, next time I wont use my face to block punches. How about the Parades in Philly and the trip to CT and Conquistador in the wrong car and the... and the time we .... and when.... It goes on evermore. Take me back to those days past, we were simpler men; no complications of lives that eventually will no longer be in style. You asked me How did I get these words, man? -I know now: from you and what you do. Even now that you moved away...from where we met and were reborn to be in these words now, reading humanity with what was skilled and learn from what was failed. This is the bare certainty of being at the crossroads of self. We swung into our subsequent lives and gave the world a galleta en la cara, so now they know who we are. This is an eternity slammed into everlastingly brotherhood and authenticity and friendship and camaraderie and now silent language of where is our stand? To the front, leading by example. Again. On behalf of all the brothers of Omicron Chapter, I would like to extend my deepest condolences both to the Casillas family and to the brothers from Rho Chapter. Lord we accept your will. We may not agree, yet it is not our place to question your will. I would like to ask you for some sort of understanding as to why you chose to take yet another one of our brothers from us; however, I don't wish to be selfish. Instead I pray that you help his family through these extremely trying times. I pray that you will allow me to make as much as an impact on life as my brother did. I know he is with you in your kingdom, please let him know that I love him and can't wait to see him again.
MAT MONTEMAYOR RHO CHAPTER SPRING 1993
I want to ask everyone to say a prayer for Alex Casillas and his family at this moment. He was and is my brother and friend and will be deeply missed by all of Rho Chapter. Alex touched a lot of lives in his 29 years here. He was always giving back and looking out for others, especially the children and troubled teenagers. I'm grateful to have so many great memories and to have shared many experiences with my brother, Alex. Though he's gone on, I know he's still here with us. Remember that we don't know how long any of us have here. The moment you are in is the only one that's guaranteed. Tell those you love how you feel and that you appreciate them and why they are here. Thank you all for your support and who you are in this world. Keep your light shining, Alex!!! Much Lambda Love, Matt Montemayor (UN) SP 93 Rho Chapter

HIRAM ALPHA EPSILON CHAPTER SPRING 2000
"If Tomorrow Never Comes" If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep, If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would videotape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming, you would KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right. There will always be another day to say our "I love you", And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?" But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget, Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight. So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish. So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them Dear. Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you" or "it's okay". And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today TWISTED SP00 SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT, MAD LOVE TO ALL MY BROTHERS, SPECIALLY MY LINEBROTHERS ACROSS THE NATION SP00, ALPHA EPSILON BLOOMFIELD NEW JERSEY (HIRAM)

At this point we would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of Alex Casillas, FB RHO Chapter Spr. '93 The South and the Fraternity as a whole has again lost another great Brother, role model and inspiration. May GOD bless his soul and may his memory forever be kept alive To the Rho family, may God bless you all and guide you in every step of your life remember Alex is within us all! his presence is and will forever live amongst us. Our Lambda family only grows stronger and tighter with these unfortunate happenings, however, we must remember there is always a light at the end of the Tunnel. "I'll send you for a little time A child of mine, He said, For you to love thee while he lives And mourn for when he's dead. It may be forty or fifty years, Or even two or three But will you, till I call him back, Take care of him, for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, And should his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories As solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, Since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn. I've looked this wide world over In my search for teachers true. And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have selected you. Now, will you give him all your love, Nor think the labor vain, Norhate me when I come to call To take him back again." I fancied that I heard him say, 'Dear Lord thy will be done.' For all the joy thy child shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, We'll love him while we may And for the happiness we've known, Forever grateful stay. But should the angels call for him Much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, And try to understand." -Author Unknown GOD bless us all.

KEVIN SHARP RHO CHAPTER FALL 1995
It's been some time since we talked last. I miss you bro. I wanted to thank you for all you've done for me. As my PM, you made me a Lambda. You were the first brother to introduce me to the fraternity. Remember the meeting on the bench in the quad? If it weren't for that, who knows, my whole life would be different right now. Giz would only be that guy I went to school with and Bronx would only be a borough. You were a natural teacher. I'm at the biggest loss right now. All I have to do is think of what you've been through in life. The 'adversities you endured' are countless. You inspire me and many others and make us believe that anything is possible through hard work. Thanks for all the memories. I could go on and on with the numerous stories. Remember when you drew that line across the piece of paper and said that line represented one's life? Then you made a dot on that line and said that dot represents the time we pledge. You told us if we only made it through that short period, our whole lives would be changed, for the better. Only now I wish that dot was a lot bigger. I will forever miss those days and more importantly miss you. I love you bro. May God bless you and your family.

Unfortunately, the Brothers of Lambda Theta Phi have lost another great brother. On Friday, May 11, 2001, we lost a founding brother from Rho chapter, Alex Casillas. My condolences goes out to his biological family, and to all that may have experienced his giving spirit. This man was a true Lambda man and he will be missed. To Rho chapter, at this time more than ever you guys need to stick together and try to continue what Alex, Irv, and Matt started. They started that chapter to assist the Latinos at West Chester University with their journey through that institution. Casillas, I remember the look on your face when your boys crossed in the Fall of 95, I was just a dreamer then waiting for my turn I guess, I remember the time you met me on the third floor of Ramsey Hall my freshman year to talk to me about the Organization that you loved and how much it affected you and your outlook life, I learned a great deal from you that night, I remember the day after I went back on line, second time around that is, you drove me home in time for my cousin's wedding after a few wrong turns of course, too busy pledging me in the car I guess, I remember the night you came to my room and watched 1492 with Little Line Brother Danny and myself, well I remember that you fell asleep not even halfway through the movie... There are a lot of other things that I remember about you Alex, there was a great deal of wisdom within and love that you exuded to everyone in our Chapter We'll Never Forget You Alex Casillas Dios Te Bendiga Luisito

I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day to laugh, love, work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh , a kiss;
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much,
good friends, good times, a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
