Throughout its history, West Chester University's marching band has held an incredible amount of influence on the Northeast region of the United States through clinics, performances, and alumni who have become actively involved in the marching arts after graduating from West Chester. Through their contributions to various organizations and ensembles, these people have either directly influenced the marching world or have been a major part of organizations that have major sway. Below is a growing list of former members who have and continue to contribute to the marching world in significant fashion.


Dr. John Villella - Current director of bands at West Chester University, President of Vivace Productions which is responsible for running the Drum Major Academy and marching band clinics throughout the entire country.

George Parks - Current director of the University of Massachusetts marching band, author of The Dynamic Drum Major handbook, and clinician for the George Parks Drum Major Academy.

George Hopkins - Director of the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps and their parent organization, Youth Education in the Arts comprising the Crossmen and the US Scholastic Band Association.

Todd Marcocci - Current colorguard designer for West Chester University, president of Under the Sun Productions, and one of the most sought after colorugard instructors in the activity as well as former director of Field of View winterguard.

Thom Hannum - Former percussion caption head of the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps, now involved with the production Blast! and University of Massachusetts.

Michael Klesch - Former brass caption head of the Crossmen and Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, band music arranger, and now working with University of Massachusetts.

Tom Aungst - Current percussion caption head of the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps.

Anthony Yaklick - Wind Arranger, Drum Corps Hall of Fame member, and former arranger for the Crossmen and Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps.

Lee Rudniki - Founder of the San Fransisco Renegades Drum & Bugle Corps, as well as former percussion instructor of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps.

Dan DeLong, Jr. - Current percussion caption head of the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps, as well as former caption head of the Westshoremen and Reading Buccaneers.

Matt Gallagher - Assistant director of the WCU marching band as well as highly sought after freelance jazz trumpeter in Philadelphia and professor at University of the Arts.

Dr. Mark Metz - DCI and marching band judge and coordinator.

John Miliauskas - Current WCU drill designer as well as former drill writer for Magic of Orlando Drum & Bugle Corps.


As this list continues to grow, every year more former members of the Golden Rams Marching Band continue to spread their influence on the marching bands. Spanning high school instructors, band directors, performers and instructors of world class drum & bugle corps, the "Incoparable" spirit has influence throughout the entire nation. More recent graduates will soon be the leaders of tomorrow's marching ensembles extending the West Chester Influence for years to come.
