The Alumni Student Connection - February 28, 1998
The Alumni Student Connection is a student service organization dedicated to helping students -
past, present, and future. It provides opportunities for leadership, communication, social
interaction, and life-long friendships. The ASC was formed in 1996 to serve as a link between
alumni and today's students.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of the ASC is to promote awareness, communication, and interaction between current
students and th West Chester University Alumni Association members. The ASC will keep alumni in
touch and involved with campus life while working to make students aware of their potential roles
as future alumni of West Chester University

The WCU Alumni Student Connection is a member of District 2 of the National SAA/SF Network - a
federation of Alumni-Student associations from across the country! On February 27-March 1, 1998,
the ASC participated in the District 2 conference at Albright College in Reading. The theme
was "Welcome to the Jungle," with items on the agenda such as "Tarzan yell," "Safari spirits," "Native Games," and
"Muckamuck!"

BENEFITS
Campus exposure. ASC members have the opportunity to make a difference on campus.
Contacts. The ASC gives members networking opportunities, inspires alumni to visit
campus for events, and share their career experiences with students. Friendships. ASC allows
diverse friendships that make projects fun and motivate people to join. A sense of loyalty. The
contacts between former and current students teach members the importance of
supporting WCU after graduation.
"So how do I join??"
All students are eligible to participate in the ASC. There are no membership dues. Each
member takes an active role in the organization. Every member serves on one of the following
committees: Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, Publicity, Fundraising, Alumni/Mentor, and Special Events. In
addition, there are several University Committees on which ASC members serve. Joining this organization is a
valuable opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and establish social as well as working relationships!

Meetings are every second and fourth Monday at 3:30 PM in Veterans Memorial Alumni House.
