Description: LBGTA is an organization whose purpose is to support those at West Chester University who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and heterosexual allies, as well as those questioning their sexuality. Our activities are focused on dispelling the myths and prejudices surrounding sexual minority issues. We seek to educate and sensitize the University community to all forms of oppression. We also seek to foster leadership and growth for sexual minority students at West Chester University. Services to the University community include consulting with faculty on course syllabi (which include content on sexual orientation), providing sexual minority speakers for class presentations, maintaining bibliographies of sexual minority material, advocating inclusion of objective sexual minority literature in the University library, and making continuous efforts for sexual minority equal rights. Social activities are also provided for students by the organization. People of all sexual orientations are welcome to attend our meetings.
