Description: Located just one block south of Schmidt Hall on S. New Street, the Newman Center is the Catholic facility established to serve the WCU community. Open Sunday, 3 – 10 p.m. and Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. with extended hours during finals. Mass is offered Monday - Thursday at 4:20 p.m., and Sunday at 5:30 and 9:00 p.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available on Sunday, or other times by appointment. Newman Center activities include Bible study, choir, community service projects, prayer experiences, and retreat opportunities. We also have an active Catholic Newman Student Association (CNSA), which sponsors a variety of spiritual, social, and educational programs on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. We welcome all students to take advantage of the Newman Center, a “home away from home,” featuring a small chapel for quiet prayer, library, computers for study, kitchen, lounge, fireplace, and television for relaxation.
