Description: The Opera Theatre Ensemble (OTE) is composed of classical singers who perform scenes and complete works from the operatic repertoire. Repertoire is chosen from standard works as well as lesser-known operas. Workshop performances are tailored to the talents of all participants. The goals of the workshop performances include increasing exposure to a wide range of operatic literature and developing musical and dramatic skills. During certain semesters, large-scale works (such as Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas) are performed, and casts are chosen by audition. Members of the Opera Theatre Ensemble and their friends regularly visit some of the many professional operatic companies in our area to enjoy live performances.

Requirement to join? Most participants are voice majors in the School of Music, but other qualified singers from throughout the West Chester University community are welcome to participate.
