Description: Sigma Pi Sigma is the nationally recognized professional honor society for physics. The society was founded in 1921 at Davidson College and currently has over 270 chapters. The local chapter was established in 1986. It is an affiliate society of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Institute of Physics and a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.

Meeting Time and Location:
Requirement to join? To qualify for membership an undergraduate must have completed at least three semesters of full-time college work and at least three one-semester, three-credit courses in physics that can be credited toward a major in physics. In addition, all candidates must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA and the same in physics courses.
