Description: The State Championship and nationally ranked Forensics program offers training and experience in intercollegiate speech tournaments. Members travel from three to six tournaments each semester and participate in events which include persuasive, information, after-dinner, extemporaneous, and impromptu speaking; oral interpretation of prose, poetry, and dramatic literature; and on-campus debates. Additionally, WCU hosts an annual high school and college tournament. Opportunities also exist for membership in the national honor society, Pi Kappa Delta. The program is open to all students who have an interest in enhancing their public speaking/oral performance abilities.
