Description: The Dance Production Workshop gives members an opportunity to obtain class credit while becoming involved in producing a dance concert. Besides performing, the students are responsible for choreography, costuming, lighting, and ticket sales. Auditions for the annual spring production are held during the latter part of the fall semester. Preceding these auditions, a general meeting is held for all interested dancers to preview the choreographers, their dance style, music, and dances for the upcoming concert. Audition and rehearsal times are given at this meeting. Rehearsals are weekly during the spring semester. Experienced students are also needed to work on a production staff: stage manager, light board operator, sound technician, backstage crew, etc. Students can earn course credit for their participation, and kinesiology majors can receive a sports credit for their work in the organization.
